Summary

The cervical neoplasia is the second most common cancer in the women, having direct relationship with persistent human papillomavirus infection, mainly types 16 (65%) and 18 (8%). This study aims to demonstrate the importance of the colpocytologic test and the increment of the colposcopic trial, that magnified the index of diagnosis of the cervical injuries of high degree. The colposcopic trial remains the gold-standard procedure for decision of behavior in any woman with injury of the inferior genital tract or abnormal cytologic test.
