Summary

The Knowledge acquired in the last years has brought great progress to the diagnosis with new tests added of hepatitis C.

The advances of the treatment and with therapeutic orientation although important have not been sufficient, for, there is a need of more efficacious medication with less side effects.

A relevant problem is the non-existence of a vaccine against this disease.
