The structural modifications of the estrogens, the raise of the society’s interest in herbal therapy and the huge industrial production of substances with ambiental effect increased the complexity of the study of estradiol and its cohort. That complexity is embroiled by the progress of endocrinology and enhances the necessity to review the concept of estrogen, its hormonal effects, and some of its biochemical aspects.
