Summary
Chronic sinusitis is a frequent disease in the otolaryngology pathology. The study of its diagnosis and treatment has been increasing in the past years. Surgery is an important instrument in its management. The goal of this article is to demonstrate the principles of the functional endoscopic sinus surgery applicable in chronic sinusitis. For this, we discuss the more important aspects about anatomy, phisiology, phisiopathology, diagnosis and surgery treatment indications.
