Summary

Because random, self-limited and multiple etiologies, the diagnosis of syncope is frequently troublesome. This article reviews the main physiopathologic mechanisms and etiologies of syncope, and the clinical application of subsidiary methods based on anamneses and physical examination data is proposed.
