Summary

The Communities Pneumonias (CP’s) present high prevalence and are considered a serious public health problem. It is accepted that between 20% and 40% of the patients need to be hospitalized, and among of these, for about 5% and 30% require treatment in the Intensive Therapy Units. The etiology can be different in accordance with lifetime, presence of illnesses associates and necessity of the hospital assistance, as well as the clinical findings that can reveal signs and symptoms characteristics or atypicals. The discerning semiologic study and the rational use of the technology and the therapeutic management is essential for the attainment of satisfactory clinical results and also pointing out the optimization of the scarce financial resources. This article presents an actual review of the important aspects about the PCs.
