Summary

The author analyse the causes as the factors of skin aging establishing a comparison between normal skin and chronological aging. Also shows the changes related to photoaging, and the skin modification related to postmenopause; additionally, presents a skin comparison between women with and without hormonal replacement showing the general benefits of hormonal replacement therapy (HRT) and studies with topical estrogens, and finally the HRT action on the hair.

The conclusions demonstrate the HRT benefits on the skin collagen and moisturizing, the quality of life and self-estime improvement and the future perspectives.
